We are connected to our bikes via three points: the saddle, the pedals and the handlebar. Since the handlebar determines to a certain extent the position of the rider and his or her weight distribution, it is of particular importance. The ideal handlebar can have a great influence on athletic performance, not only by ensuring optimal control at all times, but also by mobilizing power reserves or, conversely, by helping with regeneration depending on the riding situation.

This is where the Ultra Bar comes into play. It combines race characteristics with comfort in a unique way. To ensure that the road bike handlebar is as comfortable as possible in all hand positions, the engineers have focused the development on three special ergonomic areas:

Tops. With the help of their flat design, they distribute the contact pressure of the hands evenly, which enables ideal positioning of the hands. This puts less strain on nerve pathways and significantly reduces the risk of numb fingers. Riders benefit from this especially on longer tours.

Hoods. They also have a large contact surface, but in addition they offer specially designed, flattened outer edges to enable a relaxed side and corner grip. An even distribution of pressure on the palms reduces fatigue and noticeably increases comfort.

Drops. A tighter upper bend ensures that the handlebar is perfectly matched to current shift/brake levers. In the deep drop, the gentle bend provides comfortable hand positioning to ensure optimal power transfer and a firm, secure grip on the brake levers without cramping.

Interface Reinforcement (IR) | Beast Components has developed the pressure-absorbing IR protective layer so that different tolerances and unfavorable mechanisms do not lead to compatibility problems when fixing handlebars, stems or seatposts. The extremely fracture-resistant layer made of thermoplastic high-tech fibers withstands higher punctual loads and strengthens the clamping areas accordingly to decisively improve the durability and user-friendliness of safety-relevant carbon components.

Handmade Quality. The Beast Carbon components are created completely in-house at Black East GmbH in Dresden – here wheels are loved and lightweight construction is lived. The fairly young company is a spin-off of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre of the Technical University of Dresden. Here, scientific standards are the top priority when working with carbon as a material. With the help of the latest techniques from the automotive industry, aerospace and innovative manufacturing processes, the company aims to significantly improve the quality and suitability for everyday use of racing bikes and mountain bikes. Geometry optimization in the absolute final stage and service life analysis of fiber-reinforced plastics are the keywords here.
