Base Layers for the Rainy Season

Base Layers? It’s crazy but the rainy season has officially begun. We’re experiencing rainy weather while still feeling the heat of summer. How do we cope with such changes in weather while training and racing? Use base layers. What are base layers? They are a garment you use underneath your jersey or shirt that helps regulate your body temperature when active. How? By removing all the moisture from your skin and moving it to your shirt or jersey, your body stays dry. A wet top not touching your skin allows air to flow through and keeps your body cool in the heat. In the cold, not having a wet top touch your skin prevents the cold from coming in. With the sudden rain while training in the heat, a base layer can be very helpful in keeping you going comfortably. No need to worry about freezing because of the rain and additional aid to keep you cool in the heat. The base layer is another additional tool to keep you going faster, longer, farther. #baselayer #trainbetter #racebetter #amazeyourself
